Don’t let your anxiety & depression drain or control you.

Anxiety and/or depression can be draining and difficult to live with. The clients who work with us often come in with feelings of overwhelm, worry, or fears and sadness that take up too much of their headspace and energy. Often, this can interfere with moving forward in life and even interrupt one’s ability to connect with others, including those they love.

When anxiety becomes commonplace, living in a state of fear, having your guard up, and expecting the worst can taint your quality of life. Couple this with the heaviness of depression and everyday tasks can feel exhausting and insurmountable. Whether this is a new struggle in your life or something that's been present for a longer time, we'll work with you to uncover the underlying causes of your anxiety and/or depression so that you can learn to experience joy and move towards living the life that you want.

The stress of daily life can sometimes become overwhelming. The anxiety of normal stressors can be further compounded due to life transitions, the residual effects of past trauma or other negative experiences. Whether it was growing up in a chaotic or confusing home, a difficult divorce, or a toxic job environment, we provide a safe space to help you work through these feelings and develop a sense of empowerment.

Whatever brought you here today, we will work with you to explore how to utilize your anxiety, manage your depression, and strengthen your connections in ways that better serve you rather than hold you back.

What others have to say.

"I can see the difference in my life. I’m less anxious and can concentrate when I’m working! I noticed the changes after just a few sessions with Menahal."

"I'm getting so much better at honoring my boundaries and learning practical tools to help manage my sadness and anxiety. It's been a difficult journey, but I can feel myself healing and don't feel so stuck anymore. Sharon-Rose has helped me through so much and I am so happy that I began therapy because it has helped me get where I am now."

"I’ve begun to communicate better in my marriage because I can notice when and why I’m getting upset. Prarthita helped me become more aware of my reactions so I no longer get to that point of no return with my anger."

Frequently asked questions

What makes HMHC different? We prioritize creating a safe, inclusive space that provides culturally competent and trauma informed counseling. At HMHC, we utilize somatic modalities of therapy to harness the body’s innate wisdom and movement towards healing and growth. Our diverse team of therapists strive to create an authentic relationship with every client and believe in the holistic nature of the mind, body, and soul. We recognize the challenges and hesitations of our clients as part of the process of growth and do not view people as needing to be fixed. At HavenMHC, you will not be pathologized, judged or criticized, but rather encouraged to grow organically and holistically.
How many sessions will I need? The number of sessions will vary from person to person based on the nature of the issue(s), as well as the goals for therapy. Some people see benefits in as little as 8 sessions whereas others choose to delve deeper and engage in longer term therapy. During your first 1-2 sessions, your therapist will conduct an intake which will give her a broad sense of what is happening and what aspects can be solved through short term therapy and what might require more time.
What are your rates? While all of our therapists receive training in somatic and trauma informed care, rates vary based on therapist experience and areas of specialization. Fees range from $125-$250 per session. Limited sliding scale spots may be available.
Do you take insurance? HavenMHC is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance or participate in Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). For our clients who wish to file for reimbursement through their plan, we are happy to provide receipts that include all the documentation that is required by insurance companies. You can read more about our policies here. If you have an HSA or FSA card, we are happy to accept that for payment.
How do I get started? The first step is always the hardest and we commend you for taking it! Contact us below to get in touch and we will walk you through the first steps and support you. We will reach out to you within 1-2 business days to discuss your needs and get you started. You can also call 516-849-2241.
